StaffPosition Summary
Oversees the planning, development, and implementation of summer youth camps across Dallas College campuses. This role involves coordinating logistics, fostering partnerships with community organizations, and ensuring programs are enriching and aligned with the college's educational goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Program Development & Management: Experience in planning and executing engaging summer camps for youth, focusing on diverse interests and age groups.
Partnership Building: Ability to collaborate effectively with community organizations, schools, and internal departments to enhance program offerings.
Curriculum Design: Knowledge of educational best practices and ability to create age-appropriate and engaging learning experiences for summer camp participants.
Leadership & Supervision: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate camp staff, ensuring a positive and safe environment for participants.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with parents, students, staff, and community partners.
Budget Management: Familiarity with basic budget management principles to ensure efficient use of resources and track program expenses.
Marketing & Outreach: Basic understanding of promotional strategies to increase awareness of and enrollment in summer camp programs.
Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of state regulations and college policies relevant to youth programs to ensure compliance.
Physical Requirements
Normal physical job functions are performed within a standard office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. May be required to lift ten pounds or more depending on situation or emergency which may occur.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in education, Recreation Management, or a related field.
Two years of experience working with youth in an educational or recreational setting.
Official transcripts are required.
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license if traveling to off-site locations.
Ability to work extended hours beyond the regular 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. workday when required.
Bilingual and multilingual preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, develop, and oversee the execution of youth summer camps across Dallas College campuses.
Collaborate with community partners and internal departments to design engaging and educational camp curricula and activities.
Recruit, train, and supervise summer camp staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and high-quality instruction.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to expand program reach and impact.
Monitor and manage the summer camp budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Implement basic marketing and outreach strategies to promote summer camps and increase enrollment.
Ensure adherence to all college policies and relevant state regulations regarding youth programs.
Gather feedback from participants, staff, and parents to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Must be willing to travel as needed.
Strong critical and strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
