Seneca also provides vegetable products to other companies under various co-pack arrangements.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for: planning the day-to-day production schedule for all packaging lines; the sequencing and timing of processing fruit tanks; what fruit and formulation is required for each item being processed or packaged; working with the other departments to minimize the production time lost due to changeovers on the filling lines; timely scheduling of processing and production to maintain at least 98% on time order completion rate; providing back-up to Purchasing; providing feedback to Supply Chain Manager in regards to upcoming fruit needs; and coordinating the flow of unpitted fruit to the plant with the field crew.
Essential Functions
- Create daily production schedules in SAP, including material usage.
- Schedule in a manner that allows for minimal line change-overs.
- Understand the product flow from the field to the warehouse.
- Schedule the tank processing of all varieties of fruit used in our product lines.
- Working closely with Customer Service to maintain 98% or better service levels.
- Communicate with production, quality, and maintenance about special instructions that need to be followed for certain product lines.
- Provide back-up to the Purchasing Manager.
- Coordinate incoming loads to ensure raw product supply meets processing and production demands.
- Experience with SAP is beneficial.
- Other tasks as assigned
Competencies and Certifications Required
- B.S. in Business Management or Administration preferred.
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Previous successful supervisory experience
- Experience working in a food processing facility is preferred
