Description
Manchester Vet Services is seeking a Licensed Veterinarian Technician to join our team. We are a fast paced clinic with a teamwork based atmosphere located in Manchester, Maryland only minutes from the Pennsylvania line. We have been in business for over 40 years and relocated to an expansive newly outfitted and remodeled facility in 2020. Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are vital in providing excellent patient care, supporting our 5 doctors, and communicating with our clients. Previous experience is preferred, but not required – we will train the right individual. Patients: cats, dogs, and small mammals.
Primary care includes wellness/preventative, sick/maintenance, routine surgeries, and urgent care. No overnight or weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care
- Surgery: Intake, Pre-Op, Induction, Monitoring, Post-op, Discharge
- ICU
- Initiating, monitoring, and documenting: Patient treatments; Fluid Therapy; PO, IV, IM, and SQ injections; Calculate drug and fluid doses. Diagnostics: Collecting patient samples; Preparing samples for reference laboratory; Operating Idexx VetLab station and other in house laboratory equipmen; Assist with ultrasounds; Obtain quality radiograph images
- Appointments:
- Technician Appointments: Nail trims, Anal Gland Expressions, Medical Skin treatments, Vaccines, and other medical treatments
- Veterinarian Appointment Set-ups and Assistance.
- Obtain and document: SOAP Hx, Vitals, Laboratory samples, Treatment Care Plan. Write and Review Patient Discharges Schedule Follow up care. Assist veterinarian with exams and treatments. Perform diagnostics and treatments ordered by veterinarian
- Pharmacy: Review and fill prescriptions in house. Review and understand instructions. Confirm filled prescriptions for accuracy.
- Client Education and staff training.
Requirements
- Current Maryland RVT/LVT certification
- Flexible work schedule
- Available to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 8pm
- Be able to solo lift at least 50 lbs
- Able to stand for periods of time
- Able to kneel for periods of time for animal restraint
- Physically be able to handle ALL dogs and cats

- Exotic animal experience is beneficial.
- Ability to take initiative
- Technical skills such as intravenous catheter placement, venipuncture, surgical anesthesia monitoring, the ability to operate & troubleshoot medical equipment (digital imaging, lab equipment, IVF pumps, etc) are required after training.
