MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Stafford, VA. This role centers on hands-on design, prototyping, and testing of components using additive manufacturing technologies. You will help develop, fabricate, and optimize solutions that support defense and national security objectives through cutting-edge production techniques.
 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Designing and modeling 3D-printable components using CAD tools, with a focus on manufacturability and performance
• Operating and maintaining additive manufacturing equipment across technologies such as FDM, SLA, SLS, or metal AM
• Preparing digital files for printing, including slicing, support generation, and platform setup
• Conducting post-processing techniques including part cleaning, curing, support removal, and dimensional verification
• Collaborating with engineering teams to prototype and iterate functional parts in support of defense systems
• Documenting build parameters, performance data, and design iterations to ensure repeatability and quality assurance
   

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience with industrial or desktop additive manufacturing platforms
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo)
• Understanding of material behavior and mechanical testing in relation to 3D printed parts
• Familiarity with slicing software and AM workflow optimization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced technical environment
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) principles
• Knowledge of post-processing methods such as support removal, surface finishing, and thermal treatment
• Background in rapid prototyping or product development using AM
• Experience supporting engineering projects in defense, aerospace, or similar industries
   

Clearance Requirements:

• This role requires an active DoD Secret Clearance
