Job Description

This position will report to the Vice President of Logistics North America. This individual will work as a Senior Logistics Project Manager for the GS (Global Business Services) North America team. The primary focus of this position will be to oversee the overall supply chain and logistics strategy, manage cross-functional teams and projects and realize both new warehouse business opportunities and the optimization of existing distribution value streams while ensuring deadlines related to the planning and implementation of projects are achieved within time and budget.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for developing and managing cross-functional projects with a high level of complexity through strategic analysis, project approval, implementation, and stabilization.
  • Defines and understands the strategic scope based on the project charter, defining the timeline, stakeholders, budget, and resources required.
  • Responsible for ensuring project KPI's are achieved (on-time, on-spec, on-quality, on-budget/profit, and customer satisfaction), while driving definition of risks and risk mitigation plans, problem solving, and human/capital resource management.
  • Manage project change requests as needed, ensuring proper decision making, documentation, and approval processes are followed.
  • Assume target responsibility for project team members to the extent of their involvement in the project.
  • Managing schedule/open issues to closure by identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and reducing risk through informed decision-making processes with appropriate escalation and transparency.
  • Collaborates and aligns closely with finance and controlling to ensure accuracy and transparency regarding costs and profitability.
  • Comfortable making important informed decisions and defending those positions using sound logic and effectively communicating the decision to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure continuous learning through appropriate use of lessons learned during and on completion of projects, documenting lessons for use in future projects.
  • Remove impediments that prevent the team members from making progress.
  • Completes required tasks within project to ensure budget and schedule are maintained.
  • Manage internal and external communication of project status. Prepares and coordinates regular status reports and steering committee meetings to keep project on track.
  • Coordinates multiple work-streams impacting project delivery date. 
  • Maintains compliance of project documentation and quality gates as required.
  • Appropriately apply project management knowledge areas, respecting all relevant regulations.
  • Coach team members to ensure target-oriented collaboration, driving team building, good team spirit, and team development.
  • Travel Expectation: Between 30% and 40%

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree discipline focused on Project Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering.  
  • 5+ years of project management experience within logistics and supply chain functions.
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience, such as new product introduction, supply planning, warehouse operations and lean warehouse design.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain engineering operations and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Very good analytical, creative, and communicative skills to analyze problems and problem solving methodologies.
  • Identify business obstacles (through analysis) and produce actionable solutions. Proven track record of delivering project deliverables.
  • Process improvement (CIP) experience including techniques such as Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, process mapping, procedure development and documentation.
  • Use of the project management approach for planning and managing designated project.
  • Candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks and activities at one time.
  • Teamwork skills - Candidate must be flexible in their work style and be able to work with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
  • Use of analytical reporting tools such as Tableau/Power BI.
