Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Professional Technical Range 9 | Exempt JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Business Intelligence Developer participates in the systems development life cycle for new development, enhancements and maintenance projects in a Data Warehouse and Analytics Environment. Works closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, end users as well as other technical resources to deliver data warehouse solutions that support data-driven insight into District initiatives. This position will design, develop and deploy ETL pipelines needed to prepare and deliver data. Works independently and also functions as an effective member of the Data Services team in a variety of projects. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of Five (5) years of progressive experience designing and developing enterprise data warehousing systems.
• Minimum of Five (5) years of progressive experience using ETL toolsets such as SSIS or Informatica.
• Full understanding of relational, data vault and dimensional data models.
• Advanced SQL skills including complex query building and query performance tuning.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal relations skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
• N/A
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with C# or similar programming language.
• Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS.
• Proficiency with modern data visualization software, e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• Experience with K12 Student Information System and related Student Support Systems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design, develop and maintain relational, dimensional and data vault data models. [Daily, 15%]
• Design and develop ETL/ELT solutions for managing data movement in, out of and between various data systems, platforms, and file types and moving and transforming data for ODS, Staging, and Data Warehouse. [Daily, 15%]
• Support the analysis, data profiling, development, and integration of disparate data systems. [Daily, 15%]
• Collaborate in the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements, deliverables, and specifications related to the District enterprise data warehouse. [Daily, 15%]
• Assist in ongoing development of technical best practices for data movement, data quality, data cleansing and other ETL related activities. [Daily, 15%]
• Support resolution of production data warehouse issues including nightly ETL processes that impact enterprise reporting. [Daily, 10%]
• Maintain data standards, including adherence to data protection as defined by the District. [Daily, 10%]
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%] WORKING CONDITIONS: PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Light physical effort (lifting to 10 pounds).
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to 90% of daily activity.
