Government Mortgage Underwriting Manager - Retail Lending

CMG Home Loans is hiring an Agency/Government Underwriting Manager with their active FHA & VA designations. Responsible for the management of daily operations and personnel of an underwriting department. Promotes and protects the financial and operational interests of the company while maintaining the highest personal and professional standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Authorized to underwrite conventional, government, Bond, and other loan products as delegated.
- Develops and supports processes and procedures to maintain customer service standards and enhance loan flow for optimum production and loan quality.
- Recruits, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
- Manages employees’ daily and weekly metrics to meet monthly productivity standards.
- Stays current with company policies, procedures, industry regulations and other changes that affect the industry.
- Ensures Byte data entry and notes are kept up to date.
- Provides training for Underwriters. May support other departments as required.
- Provides timely performance reviews for team.
- Coaches/counsels individual performance of team members
- Monitors internal reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Prefer a minimum of five (5) years specific underwriting experience with all loan products.
- Two (2) years of underwriting management experience required.
- Active FHA and VA designations (DE/Lapp/Sar)
- Demonstrated satisfactory knowledge of DU and LP input.
- Ability to properly interpret DU and LP, communicate and document their findings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook systems.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate subordinates.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality required.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.
Base Salary Information:
This role is currently allocated for candidates within geographic regions that do not currently require base wage disclosure. The compensation range for this position will be provided upon request. (Due to their geographic location, residents of the states of CA & CO, and for NY are excluded from this role at this time.)
