Position Overview 

The SOF Policy Staff Officer will work as a contractor to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security Sensitive Activities & Special Programs (SASP).  

Work Location 

Pentagon, Arlington, VA 

Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors 

• Support the oversight, management, and support to a broad spectrum of complex sensitive programs and activities. 
• Assist with planning, directing, and coordinating the development of policies related to sensitive activities and support for issues that require short notice information and decision support requirements for DoD senior leaders. 
• Gather, synthesize, review and/or prepare background, information and read ahead materials for issues and engagements regarding intelligence and intelligence related policy, program, and activity support to special operations including support to counterterrorism and irregular warfare. 
• Support the development, review, and revision of strategy and policy direction for the coordination, assessment, reporting, and conduct of sensitive activities. Support to special operations. 

Education and Minimum Qualifications 

• Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance. 
• Bachelor’s Degree 
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with policy development or policy analysis work within the Department of Defense. Relevant fields could include assessments, operational requirements and risk, or operational planning.  
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Special Staff Officer Operations Forces and/or clandestine operations. 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with developing policy and providing recommendations related to sensitive special operations.
