About the role

Location: Lake Success,New York,United States

The Medical Officer will serve as a clinical leader in the Managed Care Department, collaborating in the design and implementation of performance measurement and improvement evaluations, assisting in the development of performance improvement strategies, and developing reports for clinicians, Medicaid agencies, and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with practical experience in patient care, quality improvement and assessment of quality improvement initiatives as well as writing and presenting for/to diverse audiences. The ideal candidates will also possess some experience interpreting and presenting data to a variety of stakeholders. The position reports to the Associate Vice President, Managed care.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in quality improvement and assessment, population health, managed care, health administration, and/or research.
  • Experience developing and ideally leading health care quality improvement activities.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, critical and system thinking, and problem solving ability.
  • Experience in advancing health equity and addressing systemic health disparities, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • MD degree, required.
  • Board Certification or eligibility, preferred.
  • Six (6) years of related experience in public health, health services research, health care policy, health care quality improvement, epidemiology, utilization review or health outcomes research, required.
  • An MPH or equivalent degree with emphasis in epidemiology, informatics, or health services research, preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $160,000.00 – $170,000.00. Actual salary range and/or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
