Position: Hospice House Registered Nurse, Per Diem

Location: Kennewick, WA

Type: Per Diem, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Minimum two (2) shifts per month. One must be a night or weekend shift.

Position Overview: 

The Hospice House Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate and comprehensive care to terminally ill patients and their families in a Hospice House setting. The RN, under the supervision of the Hospice House Clinical Nursing Supervisor, plays a vital role in identifying patient and family needs and coordinating services to deliver preventive and supportive care. The RN also oversees the work of Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and volunteers in the Hospice House. Additionally, the RN demonstrates a commitment to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of hospice care by utilizing teaching, assessment, and intervention skills to enhance the quality of life for patients and families.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Current, unrestricted, Washington State license as a professional registered nurse.

2. At least two years of nursing experience, preferably with one-year acute care, home health, or hospice nursing.

3. Availability for day, night, and weekend shifts as needed and as scheduled by the supervisor.

4. Available to work a minimum of two holidays per year.

Compensation

Starting Range: $35.50/hour - $55.00/hour

Pay Range: $35.50/hour - $73.81/hour

Premiums:

· $2.00/hour Per Diem

· $2.50/hour Weeknight

· $2.25/hour Weekday

· $4.75/hour Weekend Night

· $4.00/hour On Call Standby

Per Diem Benefits

· Mileage Reimbursement: $0.67 per mile, for eligible positions.

· Sick Time: Earned on an accrual basis, with a 90-day hold for new hires (usable after 90 days)

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS

1. Demonstrate support and adherence to the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

2. Participate in community Education and Outreach to raise awareness of agency-provided programs including but not limited to hospice care, advanced care planning, and bereavement.

3. Responsible for knowledge and compliance with agency policies, procedures, and practices.

4. Responsible for maintaining and protecting Patient and agency information in a confidential manner. Practice appropriate HIPAA confidentiality by accessing patient-related information on a “need to know” basis only.
