About the role

Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Controls Manager, functionally reporting to the Project Services Manager and working directly with the Project Managers and the Project Teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and methodologies relevant to Project Controls, Cost Control, and Planning / Scheduling disciplines
    • Responsible for understanding and following the contract, scope of work, schedule, estimate and procurement / contracting plan for the assigned project.
    • Coordinate and development of project coding structures (WBS), Rules of Credit, Progress Report Templates
    • Implement and maintain Earned Value / Progress Tracking system
    • Responsible for compiling Reports to the Client, including Earned Value updates and Schedule updates.
    • Responsible for the work delivery of the Cost Control and Planning resources on the Project that the Project Controls Lead is assigned.
    • Coordinate and facilitate project initial planning and schedule development with the help of planning resources, to a resource loaded CPM schedule, and Basis of Schedule.
    • Maintain and update the CPM schedule as required by project plan and perform schedule integrity check.
    • Able to perform all Project Controls duties on smaller projects / studies, including Cost Control, and Planning and Scheduling in Primavera P6
    • Interact with clients, external consultants, construction and project management, estimators, and team leads
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized institution and / or PMI or AACE certification or at 7 years’ of relevant experience
    • More than 7 years of experience in performing senior level planning and scheduling and cost control experience in an EPCM environment together with related construction field experience, preferably in mining
    • Strong oral and written communication as well as inter-personal and presentation skills
    • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
    • Hands on knowledge of schedule risk analysis software such as Primavera Risk analysis would be an asset
    • Relevant experience in earned value and progress reporting, cost control, and planning
    • Additional experience in estimating, procurement, contract administration, and construction management support would be considered an asset
    • Authorization to lawfully work in US without sponsorship from Wood is required
