We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Test Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems integration, test planning, execution, and leadership within complex system environments. This role will require a deep understanding of the DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process, and Systems Engineering of large-scale System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments. The position also demands a strong background in Agile methodologies and proficiency in digital engineering tools like Jira, Confluence, and DOORS Next Gen (DNG).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate teams of 5+ engineers in test planning, execution, and troubleshooting for complex systems.
  • Orchestrate and oversee testing activities, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met while adhering to the systems engineering life cycle.
  • Provide expert leadership on systems integration, focusing on integrating software and hardware across large, multi-faceted systems, including cloud, on-premise, and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement test strategies, develop test cases, and identify system requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the testing process by integrating Agile development methodologies and optimizing workflows.
  • Support the NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) with systems engineering, test planning, and execution efforts.
  • Utilize Jira, Confluence, DOORS Next Gen (DNG), and other digital engineering tools to manage requirements, track progress, and report results.
  • Apply knowledge of the DoD/IC Acquisition Process and PPBES to drive testing in support of government systems and missions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and teams.
  • Conduct detailed risk analysis and help with the management of system performance and quality metrics.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems) OR equivalent experience of 4+ years in lieu of a degree, or 2+ years with a non-STEM degree.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • 18+ years of experience in government or industry, including significant experience in systems integration, test planning, and execution in complex system environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams of 5+ engineers for test orchestration, planning, and execution (5+ years).
  • 10+ years of systems integration experience with a strong background in leading large-scale System of Systems and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments.
  • In-depth understanding of the systems engineering life cycle and best practices for integration and test activities.
  • 5+ years of experience with software systems integration and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies and test practices for software systems.
  • Direct experience supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) or similar government agencies.
  • Proficiency in digital engineering tools including Jira, Confluence, and DOORS Next Gen (DNG) or similar tools for requirements management and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for identifying areas for optimization within systems and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced certifications in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE) or related technical fields.
  • Experience in cloud-based infrastructure and hybrid environments.
