Talend is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing team in Portugal (Remote). In this role, you’ll be responsible for the security, stability, and scalability of our Talend Cloud service. You’ll get to work hands-on with plenty of exciting technology and scale challenges as we grow to support millions of transactions across hundreds of servers in our Talend Cloud environment. We are seeking candidates with expertise on both development and system administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ·       Ensure high reliability and availability of the Talend Cloud platform·       Work in collaboration with Engineering organization, including Architecture, Platforms, Domains teams·       Design and develop new infrastructure features based on Cloud Technology in a Public Cloud environment·       Define and evangelize cloud-related optimizations and best practices to improve reliability, scalability and performance·       Design and develop effective tooling, alerts, and response to both identify and address reliability risks·       Actively participate in working with fellow operations engineers and development teams on complex problems, and make decisions and recommendations about systems improvements after analyzing possible courses of action·       Use professional concepts, company objectives and technical expertise to resolve complex issues at cloud infrastructure, systems, network, and application stacks in creative and effective ways·       Act as a resource for fellow SREs and peers with less knowledge on Cloud / backend technologies, production service operations, reliability, scalability, performance and capacity, security, incident management and troubleshooting·       Manage and deploy internal and external monitoring solutions·       Perform on-call duty as part of a team maintaining the availability and performance of our cloud infrastructure as well as the various internal services and systems that these core services depend on.·       Provide regular updates on projects/activities status
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: ·       3 years or more of practical experience in managing Cloud infrastructure and one or more of Backend technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka)·       Bachelor's or Master’s in computer science or a relevant field·       Self-motivated, autonomous profile, with little guidance from management;·       Organizational skills, ability to multi-task with close attention to details·       Analytical skills for solving complex problems, taking a new perspective on existing solutions·       Experience in planning and leading a project within a broader project, or having an accountability on ongoing deliveries/activities·       Confirmed experience with IaC / configuration mgmt. / systems automation tools at scale (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, etc.);·       Confirmed practical experience in Cloud engineering / architecture (at least one from AWS or Azure) and microservices domain (Docker, Kubernetes...).·       Practical experience with Agile methodologies· ��     Strong Knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following technologies would be a good fit: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, ActiveMQ, scripting / automation (Bash, Python)·       Administration of production databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)·       Proficiency in English communications, both oral and in writing #LI-MM1 #LI-remote **Applicants must possess the legal authorization to work in Portugal**
