About the Role & Program

At Disney Consumer Products, a division of Disney Experiences, we bring beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of fans through outstanding products! We offer experiences that can be found around the world, including on the DisneyStore.com e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney store locations globally. We are home to extraordinary teams of product, licensing, and retail experts, artists, storytellers, and technologists. As our Communications Intern, you will support our team with a wide variety of projects.

Every day is different, but the responsibilities you can expect to fulfill are:

  • Attend brainstorm meetings to generate ideas for PR activations, media pitches, blog posts and more
  • Assist as needed at media events - including content capturing, media hosting, and routing event assets
  • Assist with media and influencer lists, track coverage, and update PR calendars
  • Assist with project management and administrative needs, including campaign tracking, priority product lists, and note-taking, as well as the shipping, tracking, receiving, and organizing of product samples

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong writer with the ability to learn to write conversationally and with a “Disney” tone
  • A strong understanding of pop culture, retail trends, and the entertainment industry
  • An organized self-starter who is eager to assist on a wide range of projects and has an excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of AP style

It would also be excellent if you have/are familiar with:

  • Shown understanding of Disney Intellectual Property—from movies and theme parks to television, streaming services, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, iOS operating system, Smartsheet
  • Previous communications and/or PR experience
  • An ability to write for various platforms and a love of storytelling

Education

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be a junior, senior, or recent graduate
