The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing hands-on daily inspections and maintenance, as well as the repair, removal, reinstallation, or replacement of park rides, buildings, and equipment throughout the Splish Splash Property.

The duties of this permanent full-time position include maintenance of general spaces within the park, such as office buildings, pavilions or restrooms. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician may also provide maintenance services to water rides and all other attractions found within the park.

We are currently looking for a:

 

Splish Splash Maintenance Technician

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

    • Perform general facility-wide maintenance and related work on roofing, exterior and interior buildings and structures, restrooms, food building and pump rooms

    • Lead and assist with daily carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical projects

    • Perform daily inspection and testing of amusement park rides, water rides, and all other attractions, signing off on its safety & completion

    • Troubleshoot, test, service, and repair amusement rides including, but not limited to, the removal, reinstallation, and replacement of amusement ride parts

    • Provide general upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and physical structures found within the park.

    • Provide general maintenance, plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs

    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair broken equipment and attractions with minimal supervision

    • Develop an understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Circuits to assist with maintaining continuous ride operation

    • Perform water quality duties within Aquatics areas of the park

    • Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, scissor lift, and more

    • Operate Park motor vehicles on-and-off site

    • Assist in the training of how to accurately operate the ride, possibly offering ride coverage for bathroom and meal breaks during peak season

    • Always adhere to all safety policies and procedures

    • Properly document work performed along with time and materials used per park policies and procedures

    • Report any maintenance, mechanical or structural issues to Maintenance and Park leadership in a timely and complete manner

    • All other duties as assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership

    • Pay Rate: $25 / hr.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered

    • Trade school training or other technical certification is a plus

    • 1+ year of previous maintenance or construction work experience desired

    • A background in a related trade such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting or landscaping is preferred but not required

    • Previous work experience performing maintenance on amusement rides or other attractions desired but not required

    Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

    Requirements: 

    • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with NY Child Labor Laws

    • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close

    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

    • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner, including landscaping equipment

    • General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and carpentry preferred
