Job Summary:
The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Staff Assistant 2 / Materials Manager. The successful candidate will:
- Organize and maintain the pharmacy inventory and related supplies, including ordering, receiving, sorting, organizing, replenishing, rotating, and disposing stock in the pharmacy work and storage areas.
- Perform inventory quality control, including but not limited to, maintaining adequate levels of all medications and pharmacy supplies, conducting cycle counts, organizing and tracking outdated medications.
- Place orders through different vendors and wholesalers as appropriate,
- Transport inventory and supplies as necessary to storage locations.
- Prepare and deliver materials for distribution to different departments of the hospital.
- Process outdated medications, schedule vendor returns, and track reimbursement.
- Organize and reconcile pharmacy inventory files and records.
- Participate in the annual physical inventory.
- Proactively track and communicate product shortages and backorders.
- Process drug recalls and log all recall activity.
- Provide oversite of medication storage inspections in clinical areas
- Be proficient in the utilization of pharmacy equipment, systems, technology.
- Comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy equipment, systems, and technology
- Ability to lift up to 10kg
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree
- New York State Pharmacy Technician License
- CPhT Certification
- Hospital Pharmacy experience
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm (Full-Time)

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
