We are seeking a motivated Environmental Intern for summer. The intern will join our consulting firm in Fargo, ND. The successful candidate will work on a variety of environmental (ecology) projects. This is a great opportunity to work with HEI’s technical experts to build experience within the environmental consulting industry.
Job Description
- Assist with preparation of a variety of documents including county and watershed environmental plans, aquatic resource delineation reports, Clean Water Act permitting, NEPA documents, wetland mitigation site monitoring reports, and biological assessment reports.
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
- Focus on team project delivery, taking directions from senior personnel.
- Assist with ecology fieldwork including wetland/aquatic resource delineations, floristic surveys, biological surveys, and wetland rehabilitation site monitoring.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in coursework pertaining to wetland studies, ecology, natural resources and botany
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Must be detailed oriented to gather technical data and write reports
- Ability to work on multiple projects, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong commitment to safety
- Clean driving record, experience with ATV/UTV
