Job Description

Join Our Team as a Finishing Operator (2nd Shift)!

Avery Dennison is a global leader in materials science and manufacturing, and we're looking for a motivated Finishing Operator to join our production team in the finishing center. This is a 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) position where you'll play a crucial role in preparing our high-quality products for shipment.

Starting pay: $17.75/hr plus $2/hr shift differential

As a Finishing Operator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Packaging Excellence: Precisely sort, label, and package finished goods according to specific customer requirements, quality standards, and company best practices. This includes understanding Avery Dennison's standard packaging and Exact program packing requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect the general appearance of finished products to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.
  • Operational Support: Keep your area stocked with necessary packaging materials and prepare cores for machine operators.
  • Communication & Coordination: Effectively communicate and coordinate vital information with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Efficiency & Improvement: Track multiple orders simultaneously, actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and participate in group problem-solving teams.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, perform 5S duties and audits, and assist with equipment maintenance as directed.

Physical Requirements for this Role:

  • Movement: Ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting up to 50% of the time.
  • Lifting: Capability to lift up to 50 pounds for up to 50% of your shift.
  • Environment: Comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.

Growth Opportunities: This role offers a solid foundation within our finishing operations. For dedicated and high-performing individuals, there are opportunities for advancement into higher-level roles, including operating slitting, rewinding, and/or automated packaging equipment.

    • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
