About the Role
As Chime’s SOX Senior Auditor, you will play a key role in implementing a world class SOX program. The successful candidate will work closely with the process and control owners to assess the end to end processes and controls are SOX compliant. This position will report to the Senior Manager, SOX, and will be largely involved in the testing and evaluation of SOX controls for various processes.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $92,520 and up to $128,600. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Assess the design and test the operating effectiveness of internal controls including IT and Accounting controls, in support of the SOX compliance program
- Coordinate and participate in process walkthroughs with management (process owners) and external auditors to ensure adequate control design and identification of “key” controls
- Assist process owners in the preparation and on-going maintenance of SOX process documentation and process flowcharts
- Project manage the SOX program by coordinating the testing of key controls, tracking completion, monitoring status, and performing continuous follow up with process owners and our Big Four co-source partner
- Identify SOX control deficiencies, consult with IT and/or business units to evaluate the severity of the deficiency, determine appropriate remediation plans, and track remediation status
- Evaluate changes in process, people, and technology that may have an impact to internal control over financial reporting, document SOX impact and provide controls guidance and training, as required
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with business partners, learning and understanding the business to better provide value-added services, establishing credibility as a management consultant and internal controls resource
- Strategize and drive operational efficiencies by finding new and better ways of managing the program
To thrive in this role, you have
- +3 years of SOX experience in Big 4 or Public Company preferred
- Bachelors or equivalent in accounting, or other business-related fields. Appropriate certifications in auditing are preferred (i.e. CPA, CIA or equivalent)
- Knowledge of US GAAP, COSO, PCAOB Auditing Standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, risk and controls standards
- Audit background and experience in helping business unit design and implement controls
- Experience testing controls and leading walkthroughs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Experience with working with internal contractors and managing external auditor requirements and expectations
- Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to achieve results
- Excellent organizational, time and self-management skills & ability to prioritize
- Team player with a positive attitude that embraces change and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Experience collaborating and working in tandem with the IT audit team, ensuring key systems and functionality are identified and tested
- Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Auditboard, Workday, Coupa, Shareworks, or/and Netsuite
- Experience with testing, remediation, and follow-up of IT General Controls (ITGC) and Automated Controls (AC) controls
