The Security Supervisor is the first line supervisor for the security department. Provides protection for the resort, its guests, employees and visitors by planning, supervising, and directing the activities of the officers as directed by the Dept. Manager. Additionally, to be used as a trainer of newly hired security associates. Along with the Security Manager, the supervisor will work to ensure continuity of training for all newly hired personnel.
*Overnight shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) for one year. After one year, the shift may change to 1st, mid, or 2nd shift. Candidates must be available to work weekends*

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:
• Conducts physical inspections of all posts and patrols to evaluate subordinates for compliance with job requirements, to disseminate daily officer’s orders, and to assure that the resort entrances and restricted areas are properly protected.
• Provides OJT and other needed training to less skilled Security Officers - Conducts field training officer duties and evaluates and tests a probationary Security Officer’s performance.
• Act as first responder to all guest and employee accidents and injuries on property. Administer first aid, contact emergency services if required. Secure First Report of Injury in the case of employee injuries; assist with the drug and alcohol testing of employees when appropriate.
• Conducts preliminary investigations under the guidance of the Security Manager and prepares and reviews written reports involving reportable incidents that occur on the Resort grounds.
• Issues, receives, and accounts for a variety of security equipment such as radios, master keys, vehicles, flashlights, and other operating equipment.
• Communicates new orders and directives to the shift during roll call/inspection formations.
• Supervises and directs the quick response of Security Officers to perform Code One and other emergency procedures. When on duty, assists the Security Manager in the emergency management process.
• Recommends, through the supervisory chain, any needed improvements to make a shift more productive or cost effective.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Security Manager in the supervision of all shift actives when required:
• Completes accurate reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Recognizes, monitors and reports any safety vulnerabilities or hazards.
• Communicates effectively with resort management by partnering with those responsible to assist in safety and security problem resolution.
• Provides ongoing mentoring and other training necessary to ensure an efficient, proactive and customer service orientated work force.
• Effectively handles any security related situation which my arise keeping the best interest of the resort and our guests in mind.
• Consistently strives to empower security personnel so they feel capable of handling any problem, for any guest, by partnering with other employees to ensure that a guest concern is property resolved.
• Leads by example. Sets the tone and a pace for excellence in the workplace by not accepting anything less from other security employees.
• Is a role model for other Security Associates.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be able to produce written reports that clearly describe the facts and circumstances surrounding a reportable incident. Good oral communication skills that afford a clear articulation of information to the guests and resort employees.
• Possess strong organization and leadership skills that provide an ability to make timely decisions under stressful conditions.
• Have the initiative and drive to maintain the standards of performance set forth by the department, and the resort.
• Possess a positive attitude and a professional mature demeanor.
• Have a working knowledge of criminal justice system and the state criminal code.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma with one year of college or equivalent. College or additional schooling may be waived at the discretion of the Director of Securiy and Human Resources based on their qualifications or other experience.
