What we want

The Assistant Director, Budget and Finance assists with oversight of business operations, the direction of program activities, and the development and implementation of program evaluation techniques.  Assists leadership with strategic planning, setting program goals and year-end reporting. Plans, organizes, and assists with the direction of day-to-day activities and develop and implement business administrative functions for the department, including policies and procedures that will improve daily operations. Supports subcontract management activities from development to closeout. Works with minimal supervision, with latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 7 years of business operations and/or management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and Video Conferencing Applications

  • Experience working on Grants, experience with invoicing, subcontractor management, procurement, and other business processes

  • Experience working with Sponsored Research Services

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working on Grants, experience with invoicing, subcontractor management, procurement, and other business processes

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications

  • Knowledge of budgeting processes

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as within teams
