St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. The Associate Athletic Director for External Operations is a Department of Athletics senior leadership team member, the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations (Associate AD) will provide leadership, vision, and oversight of all external operations units, which includes all revenue generation, including sports information, marketing and promotions, corporate partnerships, fundraising, and licensing of athletic marks. The position is responsible for devising and executing strategies to increase St. Edward's athletics exposure and revenue generation. The Associate AD will also assist in providing overall strategic direction for the department, including implementing strategic initiatives and supervising designated units and sports.

Essential Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of external operations best practices and strategies within the sports profession
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with internal and external stakeholder groups
- Ability to work professionally with external constituencies while effectively presenting, listening, and communicating both orally and in writing; Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of NCAA DII rules related to the position
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
- Excellent customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years of full-time progressively responsible work experience in revenue generation (ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, fundraising, licensing).
- Ability to manage, plan and organize, set priorities and establish work objectives, follow through on assignments, exhibit flexibility, anticipate work issues and problems, and provide leadership to projects.
- Ability to lead, supervise and mentor staff members and student-athletes
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to support the functions of the athletics department
- Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal background check is required.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and complete the University Van Driver Training within 90 days of employment date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Five (5) years of progressive responsibility in Intercollegiate Athletics revenue generation
- Ability to demonstrate a strategic vision for the day-to-day operations of a growing athletics department which complements the institution's mission
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Provide leadership, vision, and oversight of all external operations units, which includes all revenue generation, including sports information, marketing and promotions, corporate partnerships, fundraising, and licensing of athletic marks.
- Work with the Director of Athletics to create revenue-generation ideas and platforms.
- Develop and execute an annual plan to increase the revenues generated by corporate partners, advertising sales, and online merchandising.
- Develop and pursue ongoing fundraising plans and priorities by working closely with the director of athletics and the following University Advancement staff: director of development, associate director of development, director of annual giving, and assistant director of annual giving.
- Develop and manage relationships with coaches, staff, alumni, fans, friends, and volunteers of the St. Edward's G.O.A.T Athletics Fund to reach agreed-upon goals for increasing the number and engagement of donors, as well as giving totals.
