The Opportunity: 
Security engineering demands deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and an ability to proactively defend complex, high‑stakes environments. As a Senior Security Engineer, you embed security into scalable architectures, ensure systems are observable and resilient, and guide engineering teams toward stronger security practices. We’re looking for an experienced security leader like you to elevate the security posture of mission‑critical cloud‑based financial systems. 

As a Senior Security Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll leverage advanced skills in cloud security, automation, detection engineering, and secure architecture design to protect high‑availability public‑sector financial platforms. You’ll partner closely with engineering and operations teams to build secure, compliant, and resilient systems that meet strict performance and regulatory requirements.

You Have 

  • 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security architecture, or securing large‑scale distributed systems 

  • Experience designing and implementing cloud security controls, monitoring strategies, and threat detection capabilities 

  • Experience supporting security metrics, incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑incident improvements 

  • Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with scripting, infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform, and automation using Python, Bash, or Go 

  • Experience with SIEM, observability, and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, CloudWatch, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry 

  • Experience securing CI/CD pipelines, cloud‑native delivery processes, and workloads in AWS including regulated or sensitive cloud environments 

  • Knowledge of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and production security best practices

  • Public Trust

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have 

  • Experience securing or modernizing government or financial systems 

  • Experience with event‑driven or streaming platforms such as Kafka, Confluent, or AWS MKS

  • Experience with Chaos Engineering or advanced reliability and fault‑injection practices 

  • Experience operating in multi‑cloud or hybrid environments 

  • AWS, Azure, or GCP Professional‑level cloud Certifications
