The Lease Accounting Senior is a position responsible for processing new leases, modifications and terminations in Lease Accelerator, completing regression testing of new releases for Lease Accelerator, supporting our domestic and international lease accounting teams on lease accounting, and generating periodic reporting for Salesforce’s business operations in the US and Internationally. This position is heavily focused on systems and not the traditional accounting/month end close focused role. This is a full-time, exempt position on Salesforce’s Corporate Accounting team.  The Corporate Accounting team is a part of the Controller’s Organization at Salesforce. 

A successful Lease Accounting Senior at Salesforce is able to consistently apply policies and procedures, is interested in improving processes, and is able to multi-task a variety of high priority assignments while adhering to tight deadlines. A successful candidate must easily adapt to change, work well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, view each assignment as a learning opportunity and approach the task with the intent to absorb knowledge and information. The position may require overtime, particularly during peak days of accounting close.  

The Lease Accounting Senior will work closely with accounting and finance teams, business partners, and business technology teams in the US and our international locations.  The primary focus of this position will be to ensure that the records for leases in Lease Accelerator are accurate for both US GAAP and statutory ledgers and the system is prepared for monthly GL integrations and financial reporting.  There will be a heavy focus on leveraging Tableau to drive efficiencies in month-end process and reporting.  

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Processing leases in Lease Accelerator;

• Regression testing of new releases for Lease Accelerator;

• Researching questions from domestic and international accounting teams regarding leases;

• Identifying process improvements and creating action plans for team; 

• Preparing and maintaining process documentation;

• Performing other accounting analysis as assigned.

• Leveraging Tableau to streamline processes and reporting

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Core Competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

• 3-5+ years work experience in accounting or finance;

• Keen attention to detail;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel;

• Ability to self-motivate, adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment;

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;

• Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills;

• ASC 842 experience is a plus

• Lease Accelerator experience is a plus.

• Tableau experience is a plus

This role is hybrid and goes into the office 3 days per week in Indianapolis, IN or Atlanta, GA.
