Responsibilities:
Screens and applies safety standards and regulations for the business
Leads a team of Test Engineers
Collaborates with internal teams to set-up detailed risk analyses
Performs tests and validates systems, while measuring and tracking performance
Coordinates the planning and fulfillment of external certifications through ensuring the required tests are implemented
Participates in discussions with international regulatory bodies to align and improve the internal international codes and standards set in place
Coordinates and monitors the fulfillment of all legal and internal requirements regarding Health, Safety and Environment
Leads by example and line with the Freudenberg Guiding Principles and the Code of Conduct, while developing employees, driving Talent Acquisition and Management processes, and fostering a proactive work culture
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years in analytical testing labs; supervisory or team‑lead experience preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with spectroscopy, thermal analysis, microscopy, chromatography, or elemental techniques.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 17025, and ASTM/ISO standard test methods.
- Adaptable and responsive to shifting priorities, customer needs and evolving technologies in a modernizing laboratory.
- Data analysis, statistics, method validation, Root‑cause analysis and structured problem solving
- Strong leadership, communication and skilled in coaching, conflict resolution, and team building.
- Innovative, with continuous improvement mindset with experience in Lean methodology (5S, standard work, visual management).
Communication & Collaboration: Communicates clearly and concisely, while serving as a sparring partner to internal/external stakeholders. Fosters teamwork between employees and across the organization.
