Job Title: Lead ASL Driver (CDL A or B)
Location: Pasco, Washington
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:35 AM – 2:35 PM
Pay Range: $32.25 – $36.00 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)
Basin Disposal, Inc. is seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented Lead ASL Driver to join our Residential Operations team in Pasco, WA. In this role, you will lead a team of drivers while operating Automatic Side Load (ASL) vehicles. As a Lead Driver, you are responsible for mentoring drivers, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining compliance, and delivering outstanding service to our residential customers.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead by example in safety, performance, and professionalism.
- Conduct daily huddles with your driver team.
- Train and mentor new drivers and provide on-route support as needed.
- Fill in and operate routes when regular drivers are absent.
- Assist with Saturday route coverage during holiday weeks.
- Participate in and support weekly lead meetings and assist other leads when necessary.
Operations & Compliance
- Monitor driver routes and ensure efficient execution of service plans.
- Maintain and audit route books for accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure all work orders, extras, and driver paperwork are completed and submitted daily.
- Conduct regular route audits, ride-alongs, and truck inspections.
- Monitor fuel usage, truck cleanliness, and ensure vehicles are parked and shut down correctly.
- Ensure drivers conduct proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Report any safety incidents, violations, or hazards to the Route Manager.
- Ensure proper documentation of all incidents and accidents on the same day of occurrence.
- Verify weight requirements for trucks and ensure compliance.
- Promote and enforce PPE usage and company safety protocols.
Customer Service & Communication
- Act as a liaison between drivers and the office, dispatch, and management.
- Communicate immediate route concerns to Dispatch.
- Ensure customer service standards are met consistently.
- Encourage drivers to log and report ongoing concerns in route books (e.g., blocked containers, low wires, access issues).
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid CDL A or CDL B License (CDL A preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience (ASL experience preferred)
- Proven leadership, mentoring, or training experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, 90 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather and environmental conditions
Work Schedule & Expectations
- Must report to work on time and in uniform
- May be required to work on certain holidays and Saturdays (holiday weeks)
