Job Description
Performs the essential duties and responsibilities and the primary functions of a Director of Auxiliary in assessing, planning, implementing, a department of volunteer services within a hospital setting. Responsible for the overall performance of volunteers working in various departments, responsible for raising funds to make specific equipment purchases as requested from Administration, and responsible for purchases made for the gift shop, and the cash flow produced from a retail business. Additional responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service. Customer service expectations are met with the Ambassador program. Demonstrates the ability to work with various publics, volunteers, staff, physicians,
administration, families and guest in a hospital setting.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Full Time 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Recruit and retain adult and junior volunteers.
Oversee Gift Shop functions to include but not limited to staffing, market purchases, and
merchandising.
Coordinates and collaborates the functions of the Executive Board
Provides accurate financial reports for the department
Maintain regular orientation and training for new members
Provide guest relations and customer service through the Ambassador program
Ensures the Information Desk is properly staffed
Ability to analyze and interpret documents to include but not limited to financial,
policies, surveys, and other administrative reports
Effectively communicate with a variety of publics
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree
Experience working in the non-profit and volunteer environment a plus
Minimum of 5 years managerial experience
