The Opportunity
Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior System Integrator working in the Automation, Integration, and System Protection (AISP) Department. The Senior System Integrator is responsible for designing, programming, installing, and testing automation systems that bring together multiple sub-systems to meet the operational and regulatory needs of the owner. The Senior System Integrator will be able to develop and implement logic for complex custom applications. The Senior System Integrator will oversee less experienced staff and reports to a Technical Manager in the department.
What You'll Do
- Provide mentoring and review for SCADA point lists, remote terminal unit (RTU) programs, human-machine interfaces (HMI’s), meter programs, metering overviews, and calculations
- Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s), Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC’s) & Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s) for renewable and power utility clients
- Develop complete design packages for site network and communication architectures compliant with client and regulatory requirements
- Provides technical guidance to others
- Establish and maintain schedules and provide timely progress reports and project status updates
- Takes ownership of quality and coaches/mentors others
- Maintains positive client relationships, responsive both internally and externally, very frequent client interaction
- Responsible for the completion of projects in the allotted time
- Understands actual time required for most tasks and helps develop the project schedule
- Typically perform work with the following technologies and platforms:
- Communication Processors: SEL-RTAC, Novatech OrionLX+
- HMI: WonderWare, Ignition, other web-based GUI’s
- Network: SEL, Ruggedcom, & Cisco Firewalls and ethernet switches
- Troubleshooting: Putty, Wireshark
What We Expect from You
- Two year technical degree
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required
- Demonstrates proficiency and working knowledge of communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, etc.) and internet network architectures.
- Network design experience and implementation, networking/IT certifications like Cisco Certified Network Associate a plus
- Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Applies current, standard design techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete tasks
- Develops plans, specifications, and observation reports to see that these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with sound design practice
- Recommendations to development and design to improve quality
- Works closely with engineering technicians and experienced electrical engineers
- Performs detailed design reviews and evaluations within specialty
- Takes ownership of quality
- Responsible for completing tasks and projects in the allotted time
- Prepares reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects
- May participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within an assigned market
- Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude
- On-site commissioning and/or construction support is a plus
- Willing to travel 15-20% of the year
- Effectively communicates and interacts with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
- Must have a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain prior to starting date
