About the role

Description

The Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University welcomes applicants for a full-time Assistant Clinical Professor to teach our introductory Undergraduate Ground Floor course. The standard teaching load for a Non-Tenure-Track full-time position is 8 courses, scheduled in the Fall and Spring semesters. The salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be in the range $115,000 - $125,000.

We are looking for faculty with a successful career in industry to teach the undergraduate course “The Ground Floor,” our showcase business course for first-year students. The course is interdisciplinary, introducing students to the business environment and teaching what we mean by business with purpose. The position requires collaboration with a large number of faculty members who teach different sections of the course. The faculty member in this full-time position must also coordinate with adjunct faculty and external guest speakers.

While the primary teaching responsibility is to teach the Ground Floor course, the Dean of the Business School may instead assign the faculty member to teach courses in the Communications and Media Management Area, such as the Career Exploration course for first-year students, subject to the needs of the Area and the school.

In addition to teaching the NTT teaching load of 8 courses, we expect the candidate for this position to serve an additional Faculty Overlay Role as required by the School. Through immersive academic programming, community-building experiences, and faculty-student engagement, this role will enhance yield, reduce summer melt, and foster a sense of belonging that supports student persistence and success. The candidate will receive an additional $10,000 in funding for each year the Dean assigns them these additional duties.

Qualifications

* An MBA or other advanced relevant degree

* Teaching experience at the college level strongly preferred

* Well aware of the skills and characteristics required for a successful business career
