Senior Solution Architect - Data Platform

This position is part of the Architecture Excellence function, which is the home for Solution -, Data Platform - and Enterprise Architects. Architecture Excellence is responsible for architecture competency, services, and resources across all digital transformation activities in AkerBP.   

  

As part of Aker BP's goal to lead in data-driven operations, we are enhancing our use of the Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) platform. This platform is a key part of our data ecosystem. 

As a Solution Architect, you will focus on integrating and optimizing this platform to provide actionable insights. You will work closely with internal teams to transform data into a strategic asset that drives operational excellence and sustainability. Your role is crucial in enabling operational excellence and driving digital transformation within Aker BP. 

You will be the technical authority in designing, optimizing, and implementing the platform's capabilities across our operations. This role supports cross-functional teams, connecting technology with business needs to improve data integration, accessibility, and operational insights.  

 

Typical work tasks can be:  

• Design and oversee the implementation of data integration solutions within Aker BP’s data ecosystem, ensuring alignment with our architecture principles. 
• Work with other architects to integrate data solutions with Aker BP’s applications, workflows, and systems, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. 
• Support the build of data pipelines and automated processes to manage operational data effectively. 
• Develop and document architectural plans for data solution deployment and use cases. 
• Partner with digital teams to identify and implement use cases for operational efficiency, such as real-time data visualization, predictive analytics, and AI-driven decision support. 
• Define governance frameworks for data quality, compliance, and lifecycle management. 
• Work with operations, engineering, and IT teams to prioritize and deliver solutions that increase the value of the data platform. 
• Provide technical mentorship, training, and support to developers and stakeholders working with data platform tools. 

  

Skills and qualifications:   

• 5+ years of experience in solution and/ or technical architecture, data platforms, or cloud-based solutions, with hands-on expertise in data platforms.  
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and contextualization processes.  
• Proven experience with cloud platforms, including integration with APIs and microservices.  
• Ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.  
• Knowledge of industrial operations, particularly in oil and gas, is highly desirable.  
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into actionable business insights.  
• Certifications in relevant platforms (e.g., Azure, Cognite or related) are a plus.  
• Fluency in English (Norwegian proficiency is advantageous).
