About the role

Job Description Summary

The Project Application Manager in the Projects Coordination Office (PCO) will provide sales support and integrated solution application for large-scale, cross-business energy projects spanning Power, Electrification, and Renewables segments in close partnership with Consulting Services (CS) and Business Unit (BU) engineering teams during early commercial engagement (Pre-ITO) and proposal development (ITO) phases of an opportunity. They will applicate conceptual solutions, technical work scopes, and initial specifications for integrated project opportunities and determine feasibility within CS recommended system parameters and quoting limits.
The position requires deep technical expertise, proven application engineering leadership, and the ability to project manage interfaces across multiple technology domains. They will ensure a seamless transition of the opportunity to Project Management, CS, and BU engineering teams for project execution (OTR).

Job Description

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):  

  • Sales Support - Provides technical support/documents to sales teams and customers leveraging reference architectures developed by Consulting Services. Evaluates non-standard product requests and determines feasibility within CS recommended system parameters and quoting limits.
  • Solution Application - Partner with Consulting Services and Business Unit engineering teams to applicate conceptual solutions, technical work scopes, and initial specifications for customer project requirements.  
  • External Resource Coordination - Assesses requirements for specialized external services including TRS Compliance, Grid Testing, and Simulation Studies working with Consulting Services. 
  • Drive PCO Process Rigor – Standardization of technical processes, tools, and templates across the enterprise to improve efficiency, quality, and knowledge sharing.
  • Technical Schedule Development – Develop the overall technical execution plan in ITO across Business Units, resource allocation, and schedule tracking.
  • Commissioning Planning – Produce Level 1 ITO commissioning execution plans, schedules, resource allocations, and readiness checklists working with the Planning Manager for Integrated Projects.
  • DOR and Risk Register – Draft the proposed scope, division of responsibility, and preliminary risks between business units based on the reference architecture and system parameters specified by CS. 
  • Ensure adherence to the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards of GE Vernova business units as well as the customer’s contractual requirements in the ITO phase.
  • Drive a seamless transition of the opportunity to Project Management, CS, and BU engineering teams for project execution (OTR).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Systems Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in the power generation or energy sector, with exposure to enterprise-level or multi-business projects.
  • Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration and integrated system design.
  • Strong understanding of power generation technologies, energy storage systems, and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-cultural, and geographically distributed teams.


Desired:

  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or MBA
  • Strong team player with interpersonal, communication, influencing and team building skills.
  • Proven record of success working in a multicultural, regional, cross functional team.
  • Strong understanding of project business cases, encompassing impacts as project objectives, risks, opportunities, and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills used for identification, assessment, analysis and management of project risks/opportunities.

The starting base pay range for this position is $145,000.00 to $193,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% bonus This posting is expected to remain open until at least September 30th, 2025.
