The Role

 

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance and installations for manufacturing, cleanroom, lab, and facilities.  These activities include items such as: repair and installation of plant piping systems, repair and installation of packaging/conveyor systems, general utility repairs.  This person will also be involved in day-to-day maintenance activities to include completion of work orders, electrical motor change outs, and preventative maintenance tasks.  Hours worked may vary based on business need (i.e. to maintain production schedule, emergencies, etc.).

Key responsibilities for this role include:

 

• Work in a safe manner and in compliance with safety, environmental, and Facilities department policies and procedures.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair:
  • Process piping, mechanical equipment, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps used to for process and lab operations
  • Industrial fixed, rotating, and mechanical equipment such as pumps, piping, valves, motors, fans.
• Follow maintenance process requirements, including use of SAP to identify equipment issues, obtain parts, document findings, track labor hours, capture repair history, etc.
• Inspect, evaluate accuracy, and maintain heat exchangers and valves
• Troubleshoot process pumps, piping, and valves to confirm operable to design/manufactures recommendations.
• Remove, replace, repair, as needed, inoperable mechanical equipment from facility wide manufacturing systems
• Write procedures to maintain and repair equipment when required
• Maintain good housekeeping and quality of workmanship
• Support and participate in EH&S, Quality, and Facilities department programs and requirements. Other hybrid maintenance duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
• All other reasonable duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required
• 8 years of experience, plus trade school or college required or a minimum of 15 + years of experience working in a manufacturing environment; chemicals or other highly regulated industry.
• A safety mindset and focus on producing quality products is key for success in this role.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently within a strong team environment.
• MS Office: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
• 30HR OSHA General Industry /Colorado Hazardous Waste Regulations / ISO 9001:2015 /1400:2015
• Experience in the installation and repair of piping systems, including Copper, Stainless Steel, PFA, and Cast iron
• Repair and installation of air diaphragm and centrifugal pumps
• Experienced forklift and scissors lift operator
• Electrical systems knowledge (e.g: understanding low voltages, relays, instrumentation)
• Electrical NFPA 70E training, and instrumentation
• Capable of working from blueprints or electric schematics
• Industrial AC/DC Motors
• Welding / Hot work Permits
• Fire systems knowledge/experience is a plus
• Requires manual lifting of up to 50 lbs. capable of standing and kneeling for a duration of time.
• This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
