Position Summary

As Director of Operations, you are responsible for overseeing the assembly and shipping processes, this position is responsible for managing the daily operation ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, continuous improvement, and profitability goals are achieved. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will be an essential member of the operation’s executive team, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and practices. This role requires a meticulous individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As Director of operations, you will be required to be a detail-oriented and well-organized individual. A professional with a natural can-do attitude.


Essential Job Functions:


Safety:

  • Always show a Safety-first approach. Lead by example.
  • Foster a safety culture throughout the production areas. Provide, and keep track of safety training.
  • Ensure weekly safety audits and weekly 5S audits are done properly as part of the accountability program.
  • Keep track of incidents and CARs. Work with teams on identification, planning, and execution of improvements.
  • Ensure safety incidents investigations are completed in a timely and proper way.

Quality:

  • Always show a customer-oriented approach. Lead by example.
  • Foster a quality culture throughout the production areas. Provide, and keep track of quality training.
  • Ensure weekly quality process audits are done properly as part of the accountability program.
  • Keep track of FPY, QIRs, and CARs. Work with teams on identification, planning, and execution of improvements.
  • Ensure quality incidents investigations are completed in a timely and proper way.

Service:

  • Always show a Can-do approach. Lead by example.
  • Foster a teamwork culture throughout the production areas. Provide, and keep track of process training.
  • Ensure weekly production indicators are calculated and posted properly as part of the accountability program.
  • Keep track of Productivity, Efficiency, OTD, and inventory accuracy inside the production areas. Work with teams on identification, planning, and execution of improvements.
  • Keep track closely of Headcount, OT, Turn-over, Attendance, and promotions and recognitions.
  • Ensure Production incidents investigations are completed in a timely and proper way.

Cost:

  • Always stay alert to the financial impact of indicators inside production. Lead by example.
  • Foster a financial understanding culture throughout the production areas. Provide, and keep track of financial training.
  • Ensure weekly financial indicators are calculated and posted properly as part of the accountability program.
  • Keep track of OT, Scrap, Inventory adjustments, and Cost variance inside the production areas. Work with teams on identification, planning, and execution of improvements.
  • Ensure financial opportunities are addressed in a timely and proper way.

Shipping:

  • Always show a can-do attitude and prioritize safety and on time delivery. Lead by example.
  • Foster a teamwork culture throughout the shipping areas. Provide, and keep track of training.
  • Ensure weekly shipping indicators are calculated and posted properly as part of the accountability program.
  • Keep track of OTD, Inventory accuracy, OT, and complete loads inside of the shipping areas. Work with teams on identification, planning, and execution of improvements.
  • Ensure improvement opportunities are addressed in a timely and proper way.
  • Process outbound shipments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Verify and document shipment contents, including item descriptions, quantities, and condition.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to schedule pickups and deliveries.

Document Control:

  • Establish and maintain an organized document control system.
  • Create and manage operation’s documents, including work instructions, visual aids, visual administration displays, and all KPIs charts.
  • Conduct audits of safety, quality, production, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and regulations.
