Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

 

We are seeking a Director of Engineering, Machine Learning to lead a high-visibility, moonshot initiative focused on enabling the next generation of agentic AI products that will shape the future of work. In this role, you will work closely with C-suite stakeholders to shape and deliver cutting-edge AI systems with real enterprise impact. This is a rare opportunity to define and lead a transformational AI platform at the intersection of engineering excellence and executive vision.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the architecture, development, and scaling of advanced ML and Generative AI systems.

  • Drive the design and deployment of agentic systems and robust evaluation frameworks.

  • Partner with senior leadership to translate bold ideas into production-ready platforms.

  • Guide teams through the full AI product lifecycle, from conception to scale.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in ML modeling and Generative AI systems, including agentic architectures and evaluation methodologies.

  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling large-scale AI systems in production environments.

  • Hands-on leadership through at least one end-to-end AI product lifecycle.

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative field - Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Economics or related fields.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Startup experience, including building products from 0→1 and scaling them successfully.

  • Track record of operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with high ownership.

The pay range for this role is $226,000 to $369,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
