As a Principal Software Engineer at Zaden, you will provide technical leadership and expertise to drive our mission of automating a smarter future through advanced DevSecOps solutions. You will architect complex software systems for defense and space applications, lead technical strategy development, and mentor engineering teams. Your expertise will be crucial in modernizing legacy systems, implementing AI-driven predictive analytics, and advancing our digital transformation initiatives through innovative approaches and cutting-edge technologies.

Role Responsibilities:

• Architect and design sophisticated software systems and solutions for mission-critical defense applications
• Lead technical strategy development and implementation across multiple projects
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
• Drive adoption of DevSecOps best practices, tools, and methodologies
• Develop complex software components requiring specialized domain knowledge
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Define and implement technology standards, patterns, and best practices
• Lead code reviews, architectural reviews, and technical retrospectives
• Identify and mitigate technical risks across projects
• Contribute to business development and proposal efforts with technical expertise
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential application

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience
• Expert-level knowledge in multiple programming languages and frameworks
• Deep understanding of software architecture principles and patterns
• Advanced knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services
• Extensive experience with containerization, orchestration, and microservices
• Proven track record of leading complex software development projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active security clearance
• Experience developing software for national security, defense, or space systems
• Understanding of electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) operations
• Experience with NGA CORE (Common Operations Release Environment)
• Specialty in data visualization techniques and frameworks
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure development practices
• Experience with real-time systems and high-performance computing
• Publications or presentations at technical conferences
