About the role

We are currently seeking a paid media expert to lead paid digital performance media for Amazon Shipping in North America. This position will require strong skills in all areas of paid marketing (e.g., Media planning, buying and optimization, internal and vendor relationships, RFP, execution and performance reporting).

As owner of performance media, you will be responsible for setting the vision of your media program, bringing new innovative ideas, and implementing them successfully at every stage of the process from strategy, sourcing, QA, and optimization.

You will define tools, processes, and partnerships required to bring your program and campaigns to life. Using internal and industry data to recommend and execute paid marketing plans across digital performance paid channels (e.g. Google, LinkedIn, programmatic etc.) that delights customers, drives awareness and traffic to our website and conversions.

The successful candidate for this role has experience owning cross-functional digital media programs, making data-driven decisions, and influencing others. You must be able to work at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (executing paid media campaigns, improving/automating processes, analyzing metrics, and solving problems).

You are a self-starter and possess strong analytical skills and thrive working among a broad, diverse set of stakeholders. You leverage strong organizational and project management skills and have a track record of delivering quality work.

You have a high level of comfort navigating ambiguity, a passion for testing and scaling learnings beyond your immediate team, and the ability to investigate complex challenges and effectively influence cross-functional stakeholders.

You work backwards from the customer, apply innovative thinking and dive deep to identify and mitigate gaps.

Key job responsibilities
Manage end-to-end paid marketing strategy and execution for performance channels- Partner with tech, analytics, finance, and Amazon central channel teams to optimize campaigns and deliver efficiency gains.

Monitor and analyze paid media metrics to evaluate campaign performance, optimize strategies, maximize audience engagement, and develop new metrics to demonstrate value and business impact of our media tactics.

Report on paid marketing efficacy (scale and efficiency) based on the media mix, conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed goals, and report on progress to goals with senior leadership.

Identify opportunities for paid marketing automation and partner with external agencies/vendors and our product teams to estimate impact and define business requirements

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) business collectively represents some of the most critical components of Amazon’s first-class transportation network. Everything we do is aimed at further delighting our customers with faster, cheaper and more efficient means of receiving packages. With Amazon Shipping , Sellers can tap into Amazon's world-class transportation solutions for their own small parcel needs. We are seeking a leader to set up and scale in-house performance media capability.

Basic Qualifications


- 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Knowledge of analytics tools and web traffic reporting
- 5+ years demonstrable experience within the media buying space (designing and managing campaigns)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience using any of SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis
- Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting
- Hands on media planning, buying and optimization experience
- Experience of managing complex program of work working across cross functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Exceptional analytical skills with experience in deep diving data
- Experience developing written documents in a professional setting
- Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
- Experience working cross-functionally across Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Legal
- Entrepreneurial spirit / ability to try different things with minimal direction
- Freight or transportation industry experience a plus
- Exceptional oral communication abilities
