Who will you be working with?

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the management of a remote field service group and associated warranty accounts supporting the warranty obligations for locomotives manufactured by Wabtec.

How will you make a difference?

Responsibilities include but not limited to, the ability to effectively manage business relationships with customers both internal and external customers, vendors, contractors and team members to ensure the delivery of quality services to customers in the Rail transportation infrastructure. Must ensure reliability and performance meets service levels as it pertains to the contracts related to service and warranty policy and procedures. Responsible for displaying strong leadership and performance management skills, business relationship management, financial management, and technical management of projects, contracts and overall aftermarket product support. Use Project Management methodologies and documentation for proper project planning, initiation and execution. The successful candidate must exhibit excellent leadership capabilities, be able to work with a minimal amount of supervision, contribute to the growth initiatives of the Field Service team, cost control related to the warranty accounts and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

What do we want to know about you?

Bachelor’s degree in Technical / Business related field, Engineering or Sciences preferred. Non-degreed candidates with Military experience in these areas or advanced Military and industry experience in Project Management will be considered

          5 -10 years of management in this field required.

          Previous experience of managing a large geographically dispersed staff

     Technical expertise in heavy equipment / electrical, mechanical and pneumatics systems, competency preferred.

          Understand budgetary and cost account management guidelines.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Sets priorities, coaches and guides team members, schedule workload and ensures deadlines are met for the field service team
  • Provide guidance to the field technicians in regards to operating in accordance with contractual requirements, project work assignments, and resource usage across all locations
  • Writes and delivers performance evaluations of employees on a timely basis
  • Participates in writing proposals, presentations and quotations as required
  • Communicate on a technical level with management, engineering & customers (both written and verbal)
  • Assist with budget planning of the field service group and forecasting results for each month within the Budget period
  • Manage warranty cost and customer bill packs in a timely manner………….ensure management is kept appraise of any changes or impacts as a result of customer billbacks in a timely manner
  • Participate in training / leadership development programs as assigned
  • Ensure teams / staff are current on all training requirements in accordance with corporate initiatives / Plan
  • On behalf of the Services organization, supports / hosts monthly warranty review meetings and ensure reports are available on time and accurate
  • Performs presentations in front of customers and senior management as required
  • Maintain internal and external customer relationships necessary to foster success with business partners
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team on service lev
