Principal Associate, Program Management, Core Consulting

Capital One is seeking a strong Principal Associate to support the development and delivery of key Cyber solutions in a cloud first technology environment. A strong candidate will have a proven track record of delivering solutions right from planning to execution as well as rigorous analytical skills experience with developing new initiatives. They will oversee scoping and planning, anticipate bottlenecks, escalate when necessary, and ultimately deliver a program that secures Capital One’s environment. They will be a clear thinker, thrive in working across teams, and be an expert in dealing with ambiguity.

Security is essential to what we do at Capital One, from protecting our customers to our associates. Capital One is hiring a Cyber Security professional to join the Core Consulting team and support the service area’s day-to-day management processes and procedures.

What You’ll Own:

• You will support moderate to large complex cross-departmental efforts

• You will leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

• Assess, report on, and make recommendations regarding current and proposed Core Consulting operational risk cadences and processes.

• Exhibit a proven track record of risk-related project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work.

• Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.

• Ability to support multiple project workstreams while maintaining superior results.

• Maintain documentation related to Core Consulting; this may include operating procedure documentation, stakeholder communications, and service area updates.

• You will focus on projects that are part of our key priorities of the technology organization

• You will manage and execute project plans to ensure delivery in a dynamic environment

• You will build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional key stakeholders to understand processes and drive results

• You will creatively solve problems and think outside of the box to help remove barriers and challenges

• Identify ways to improve and streamline processes using a data driver approach

• Create executive-ready presentations and materials

• Manage special projects autonomously and through partnership with cross functional teams
   

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

• At least 4 years of experience in Project or Program Management 

• At least 1 years of experience in information technology
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree 

• 5+ years of experience in Program Management

• 1+ years of experience working in consulting or a service-oriented organization  

• 1+ years of project management experience leading cross functional projects or programs in Cyber 

• 1+ years of experience in Agile delivery using Jira and Confluence

• 1+ years of experience working with cloud technologies

• 1+ years of experience working in the Financial Services industry

• Project Management (PMP) or Program Management (PgMP) certification
