Financial Manager I (Financial Planning & Analysis)-Financial Administration-Mount Sinai Hospital-Full Time-Days
Position Summary:
The Financial Manager I has oversight of all financial and related activities for a large and complex institute, department, center or unit. Manages workflow and analyst performance, performs analyses to identify revenue collection problems and other trends.
- Responsible for overall management and delivery of the business plan. Financial analysis and creation of reports as requested by Finance, the department administrator or chairperson as applicable.
- Ensures that the day-to-day financial operations of the department, center or unit, including payroll, month-end reporting, accruals and accounts payable activities are handled.
- Develops business plans for new academic hires, clinical expansion projects and/or reductions in service, if applicable to department and position.
- Prepares salary and supply budgets and monitors accounts payable and receivable as appropriate.
- Compiles productivity, compliance and profit/loss reports.
- Reviews outside agreements and tracks expiration timeframes to initiate renewals.
- Analyzes revenues to identify collection problems, billing issues and other trends.
- May be well versed and take proactive role in costing models, budgeting and administrative and clinical functions that contribute to charge capture, evaluation of patient service revenue, including comparing costs across patients, sites of service and physicians.
- Will collect and create data sets to present documentation to executive leaders.
- Reviews processes and makes recommendations to implement effective changes in procedures and policies.
- May train and oversee financial analysts
- Approves all travel, check and purchase order requests; initiates Human Resources transactions and follows up.
- Assists with special projects and provides analytical support.
- Performs other related duties.
Education Requirements:
? Bachelor?s degree required, Master?s degree preferred
Experience Requirements:
? 5 years of directly related experience
Computer Skills:
? Advanced/Microsoft Office Advanced
General Skills and Competencies:
? Strong knowledge of financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting and practices
? Familiarity with compiling financial reports reflecting financial status and operating procedures of organizations.
? Very good written and oral communication skills
? Attention to detail
