The Role: Regional Shipping Manager

 

Position Summary

The Regional Shipping Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the shipping operations across multiple sites. This role is focused on ensuring the efficient and timely shipping of products, meeting
delivery schedules, and maintaining high safety standards. The Regional Shipping Manager will supervise a team of shipping personnel, provide leadership in daily operations, and ensure that all shipping activities are
aligned with company goals and customer requirements.
 

The role requires excellent leadership and relationship-building skills to create trust and drive alignment across the organization.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Shipping Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate shipping activities across multiple locations to ensure the on-time and accurate delivery of products to customers.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop shipping personnel, ensuring that the team follows best practices and company policies. Conduct performance reviews and provide training as needed.
• Budget and Cost Control: Prepare and manage the shipping department budget, control shipping expenses, and review/approve shipping-related invoices.
• Safety and Compliance: Implement and maintain safety protocols for shipping operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and
  training for staff.
• Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve shipping processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet delivery performance goals.
• Vendor and Carrier Relations: Manage relationships with external shipping vendors and carriers to ensure service quality, negotiate contracts, and resolve issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production, customer service, and procurement departments to align shipping schedules with production timelines and customer needs.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze shipping reports, monitor KPIs, and present findings to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience in shipping environments, preferably in the manufacturing or corrugated sheet converting industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and shipping compliance standards.
• Experience in managing budgets and controlling operational costs.
