Nurse Technician Supplemental Staff

12-hour shifts (includes weekend and shift differentials). Base Pay $26 - $36 / hour DOE 

The Nurse Technician performs services requiring knowledge, skill and judgment necessary for carrying out selected aspects of the designated nursing regime. The Nurse Technician recognizes and is able to meet the basic needs of the client, and gives nursing care under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse, to clients in routine nursing situations. A routine nursing situation is one that is relatively free of complexity, and the clinical and behavioral state of the client is relatively stable, requires care based upon a comparatively fixed and limited body of knowledge. In complex nursing care situations, the Nurse Technician functions as an assistant to the registered nurse and facilitates client care by carrying out selected aspects of the designated nursing regimen to assist the registered nurse in the performance of nursing care. The Nurse Technician functions in a dependent role when executing a medical regimen under the direction and supervision of an advanced registered nurse practitioner, licensed physician and or surgeon, dentist, osteopathic physician and or surgeon, or naturopathic physician. A Nurse Technician may not accept delegation or acts not with in his or her scope of practice.

Requirements

Required Education and Certification

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing ADN or BSN program.
• Current Nurse Technician License valid from the State of Washington.
• Current BLS Certification
• Has successfully completed a pharmacology course, with written documentation attesting to preparation in medication administration.
• Has successfully completed 2 quarters of Nursing School Curriculum, including a clinical component.
• Demonstrated skill in administration of oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications.
