Social Media Assistant

Salary/Position Classification

• $13.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 15-20 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): Yes

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create and post new social content that showcases UND student life.

• Shoot photography and video content specifically designed for TikTok and Instagram Stories/Reels.

• Identify and capitalize on current social media trends.

• Adhere to UND brand standards.

• Collaborate with UND’s Social Media Manager, digital marketing team, and creative staff.

• Attend weekly creative briefing and brainstorming meetings.

 

Minimum Requirements

• Experience creating content on TikTok and Instagram (personal accounts or professional experience).
• Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram platforms and trends.
• Ability to manage all aspects of social media video creation (filming, editing, applying graphics, color correction, audio mixing).
• Confidence to appear both in front of and behind the camera.
• Ability to meet short deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment, and coordinate with various individuals.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Effective time management and editing workflow to incorporate feedback and meet deadlines.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

Previous published work on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube that demonstrates storytelling, technical skills, and creativity.
