POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is a strategic role responsible for optimizing the accounting operations within the organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial structure by providing top-tier accounting support. The Senior Accountant will drive efficiency, streamline processes, and ensure seamless collaboration and integration of accounting programs in the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly/quarterly
- Assist with monthly financial statement preparation
- Assist with the annual audit preparations
- Prepare month-end journal entries and manage the fixed asset ledger
- Manage the invoice process and accounts payable functions
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including collections, bad debt, and preparation of reports for management
- Manage the company credit card program, including issuance, reconciliation, and expense tracking.
- Oversee the company expense reporting program, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Controller to align accounting goals with the company's strategic objectives.
- Serve as the primary accounting business partner to the Controller, providing high-level support.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records, ensuring valuable institutional knowledge is preserved and accessible.
- Provide dynamic and strategic support to the senior leadership team by readily adapting to evolving needs and taking on additional responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages, and other items, to walk short distances, and sit at a desk for extended periods of time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated track record of success in accounting roles, with at least 5 years of experience in progressively responsible positions.
- Experience in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.
- Experience managing the entire accounts payable function, including preparing cash requirement reports, new vendor setup, maintaining the accounts payable ledger, and cutting checks to vendors.
- Proven leadership abilities in cross-functional collaboration.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software; experience with financial system conversions preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Experience in budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA certification preferred.
