Senior Manager, Cybersecurity

The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity is responsible for leading the architecture, engineering, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of LivaNova’s cybersecurity infrastructure, controls, and technologies. This role ensures the protection of the organization’s digital assets and supports the development and execution of LivaNova’s cybersecurity program. Key focus areas include defensive security platforms, cloud security, SOC operations, threat and vulnerability management, and security engineering. This role requires close collaboration with Business Units and the IT organization to align cybersecurity efforts with business objectives, ensuring security does not hinder LivaNova’s operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), including incident response and threat management, ensuring rapid detection and resolution of cybersecurity incidents.

  • Operationalize incident response procedures and workflows to improve efficiency and preparedness.

  • Ensure cybersecurity tools and platforms are fully utilized, identify operational gaps, and implement solutions to enhance capabilities.

  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including incident response playbooks, workflows, and process documentation.

  • Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and communicate the effectiveness of security operations.

  • Collaborate across IT teams to align security initiatives with business and technical goals, safeguarding LivaNova’s systems and data.

  • Manage partnerships with security vendors to enhance tools, processes, and overall cybersecurity posture.

  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, providing updates on security operations, incidents, and improvements.

  • Oversee daily operations of core cybersecurity tools/platforms including but not limited to, SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, email security and cloud security solutions, and vulnerability scanners.

  • Develop and enforce operational procedures, escalation protocols, and incident reporting standards.

  • Support internal teams (IT, Legal, Audit, Compliance, Risk) in areas such as regulatory reporting, risk assessments, control testing, and program oversight.

  • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, tools, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Incident Response, or IT; with at least 3 years managing incident response or vulnerability management operations.

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GIAC, CISA, CEH, or equivalent are preferred.

  • Knowledge of risk and security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF/800-53/800-171, HIPAA, etc.).

  • Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity tools, platforms and processes: SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment, cloud platforms, and attack methodologies (IOCs, TTPs).

  • Experience in penetration testing, threat/vulnerability assessments, and operational technology (OT) security.

  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and make decisions with limited information.

  • Self-motivated and organized, with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to stakeholders.

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $150,000 - $185,000 + discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
