About the Healing Arts New York Network
The Jameel Arts and Health Lab (the Lab), housed in the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, seeks a part-time Coordinator to provide essential administrative and production support for its New York City-based activities. The Healing Arts New York Network (HANYN) is a strategic city- and state-wide community of practice dedicated to strengthening relationships, facilitating exchange, unlocking investment at the city and state levels in arts and health, and influencing policy. The network brings together a diverse network of artists, health professionals, researchers, and policymakers to advance the role of the arts in health and well-being across New York.
Position Summary
The Coordinator will work under the direction of Dr. Nisha Sajnani, Founding Co-Director of the Lab. The Coordinator will play a key role in organizing network events, facilitating network exchanges, supporting communications, and managing program logistics. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, proactive individual passionate about the intersection of arts, health, and community engagement. This is a part-time position of 24 hours per week, and will require significant onsite presence. This position will not include any supervisory responsibilities.
Specific responsibilities of the Healing Arts New York Network (HANYN) Coordinator include:
- Provide administrative and production support for NYC-based activities, including planning and executing events as part of the UN General Assembly Healing Arts Week.
- Facilitate city-based hub exchanges and co-mentorship opportunities with global partners, supporting relationship-building and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate weekly office hours with the Lab’s network of professional researchers and network members to provide evaluation support.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop new and innovative programming initiatives to expand the reach and impact of the HANYN.
- Identify unmet needs within the HANYN community and strategize to address those needs.
- Process and track program expenses, maintaining accurate records and supporting budget management.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop content for social media, website, and newsletters.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay range for this position is $28 - $30 per hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, events management, creative arts therapies, arts in health, or a related field;
- 2 - 5 years of experience working on program administration, preferably in the area of arts and health;
- Familiarity with expense tracking and budget management;
- Familiarity with Google Suite (Google slides, sheets, docs, etc.);
- Experience developing marketing content (i.e. social media copy);
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Excellent written and spoken English; multilingualism welcome;
- Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively; and
- Experience with knowledge translation.
