Job Description:

Assist faculty, graduate students chairside in the care of patients. Assist in operatory turnover, cleanup, and tray turn-in for faculty and graduate clinics. Sterilize instruments and equipment.

Stay current with college and department protocols by participating in in-service training (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), medical emergency management, etc.) when requested to do so.

Responsible for maintaining the supply needs for conventional and endodontic surgery in Faculty Practice and the Graduate Endodontics Clinic. Maintain excellent student, faculty, and patient rapport. Assist with electronic charting and referrals associated with patient treatment.

• Assisting in residents in Graduate Endodontics Clinic
• Additional duties (assigned by the supervisor or faculty) not specifically listed above.

 

Monday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.

Expected Salary:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) Certification demonstrating the successful completion of training as specified in Chapter 64B5-16, Florida Administrative Code. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Dental radiology certificate/permit
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) [Dental Assisting National Board CDA]
• Completion of formal training with a dental assisting program through a community college or vocational technology center
• General dentistry chairside assisting skills
• Information technology skills operating a computer
