Primary Function
The primary objective of this role is to support the integration of equipment into the manufacturing ecosystem at AOS. This role will ensure data can be analyzed and visualized so problems can be systematically reported to key production groups. This role will report to the Director of Digital Operations.
The Senior Digital Operations Architect will work independently and with cross-functional teams throughout the entire lifecycle of digital operations projects. Will work closely with BTS, Engineering, Project Management, and Plant Engineering to bring systems from initial design, through prototype development, into full production and at scale across the organization. A successful architect will lead the integration of new and existing supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and technologies that will allow for business optimizations.
Responsibilities
- Document system infrastructure and methods to ensure workflows are established and managed; Enhance SCADA solutions for optimal business performance.
- Drive business case optimization and value engineering initiatives for SCADA offerings.
- Create a 3-year real time performance monitoring roadmap reviewed by digital operations executive steering committee.
- Develop and optimize AOS smart factory architecture, integrating SCADA systems, data analytics, and visualization tools such as dashboards and reports.
- Support the commissioning of SCADA applications in collaboration with IT staff, including security roles and deployment of shared services.
- Design real-time, user-friendly dashboards for KPI monitoring and machine performance.
- Develop standardized architectural template(s) to enable an accelerated SCADA implementation.
- Scales solutions across the business rapidly and provide production support.
- Manage Smart Factory Infrastructure and Data Management Strategy for AOS, Develop a phased approaches dependent on where each factory is on their journey.
- Work with production leadership, staff and cross-plant Data and KPI council to define requirements for data collection and visualization.
- Ensure smooth transition and or communication links exist between legacy systems and new systems.
- Write scripts or code to customize SCADA software for specific applications.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Keep software and firmware up to date to address security vulnerabilities and improve performance.
- Conduct testing and debugging of SCADA systems, network deployments and installations to ensure reliability and accuracy of data acquisition and control.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Updates and maintains operating and system standards, work instructions, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a closely related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience, including client/server networking, SQL database programming, report generation.
