The Network Analytics team develops and tests advanced algorithms and software tools that enable users to model, visualize, and solve complex network optimization and analysis problems. Our work bridges graph theory, optimization, and machine learning to deliver high-performance analytics for numerous applications.  

 

As an intern, you might:  

 

  • Develop and validate new graph algorithms and visualization features within the SAS Viya network analytics framework. 
  • Design automated tests in Python or SAS to ensure algorithmic accuracy, performance, and numerical stability. 
  • Contribute to improving product documentation and reproducible analytical examples. 
  • Collaborate with other developers and testers to investigate defects, verify fixes, and improve CI/CD workflows. 
  • Explore innovative applications of network analytics in domains such as health and life science, quantum computing, and agentic AI. 

  

Required qualifications

  • You’re a college student enrolled in an accredited Master's or PhD program, not graduating prior to December 2026.  
  • Currently pursuing a degree studying Computer Science, Operations Research, or related quantitative field.
  • You have programing experience in one or more of the following languages: C/C++, Python, or SAS
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.  
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
  • You’re interested in the future of analytics and embrace technology.
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.

 

Preferred qualifications

 

  • Experience with software testing frameworks such as PyTest or Catch2. 
  • Familiarity with graph analytics libraries like NetworkX, PyTorch Geometric, or similar tools. 
  • Experience using a modern version control system (e.g., Git/GitHub). 
  • Experience working with SAS software and analytics workflows. 
  • Understanding of entity resolution concepts and their applications in data integration and network analysis. 

  

Timeline
