Job Description

Counseling Services seeks a part-time Licensed Mental Health Provider to deliver high-quality clinical care to our university student population with a broad range of presenting concerns. Core responsibilities include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with campus partners. Depending on licensure, experience, and program needs, the role may also include clinical supervision and training.

All services are provided in accordance with applicable professional ethics (e.g., APA Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct; APA Multicultural

Guidelines), established standards of care, and Nevada and federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term, goal-focused mental health counseling (individual and, as assigned, group)
• Conduct evaluation, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning
• Participate in case disposition to match clients to appropriate services
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record
• Consult with faculty/staff and collaborate on referrals to campus/community resources
• (As assigned) Provide clinical supervision and training to graduate trainees and/or interns/postdocs

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Nevada licensure as one of the following:
  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
  • Licensed Professional Counselor
• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally responsive services to diverse populations with competence

Preferred Qualifications

• Counseling/clinical experience with college students, ideally in a university setting
• Availability for some evening (5–8 p.m.) and/or Friday hours
• Experience and interest in clinical supervision and training of graduate students and/or interns/postdocs
