Summary:

Huntington Bank Capital Markets Syndicated and Leveraged Finance Analyst will support the origination and execution of transactions to drive the success of the group providing ideas and broad distribution to advise clients at each stage of a transaction and continually develops capital markets solutions to enable clients to mitigate strategic, operational, credit, and market risks.  Huntington’s new colleague will review and analyze financial data of both clients and prospects, including market analysis, review of public and private comparable equity, debt and M&A transactions. They will perform substantial independent research in collaboration with the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance team and Relationship Managers and create presentation materials for clients and prospects, including marketing pitches, term sheets, formal offering memoranda, and financial models.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support senior team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, and transaction structuring scenarios to help clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives
  • Assist with preparing client pitch books, transaction comparables, financial models, offering memorandums, lender presentations, and syndication opinions, all while interacting with prospective investors, and facilitating deal execution from start to close
  • Complete deal closing checklists and ensure all components of the closing are accurately reported
  • Participate in meetings with current and prospective clients
  • Create and maintain accurate quarterly reports for management
  • Utilize proficiency in credit fundamentals and determine the appropriate risks on new and prospective clients and transactions so that all relationships are entirely in strategic alignment with Huntington's risk profile and external financial markets
  • Maintain current knowledge of risk-related changes that may impact assigned areas of responsibility 5%
  • Adhere to bank policies and procedures and comply with legal and regulatory requirements to ensure quality assurance
  • Assisting business development efforts

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or STEM related coursework
  • 1 - 3 years' experience within Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Lending, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance
  • FINRA Series 79, 63 or other necessary combination, or licenses to be obtained within 120 days of start date

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Located in or willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels
  • Experience performing research with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced financial and Excel, Word, and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Progressive thinker and problem solver, with a strong ability to manage ambiguity/complexity
  • Work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to embrace change, constructively negotiate constraints, and effectively leverage resources to create exceptional outcomes
  • Consistently model and inspire high levels of professional demeanor and integrity
